The museum’s Tsurumi Annex 101 started in July 2021 as a temporal gallery/information center of the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art during its renovation closure. A wooden deck was set up outside the gallery while displaying the video art collection of the museum in the gallery. Various events by inviting the artist were held as well.

As the last event of the Tsurumi Annex 101, we display photographs from the “renovation diary” that the museum continuously posted on its Instagram during the closure. By delivering how we are heading towards our reopening, we hope the visitors understand what has changed through the renovation work and develop their expectations for our reopening on March 18, 2023.
