A design unit 2m26 built the movable workshop station, Toolbox. During the museum’s renovation closure, 2m26 and the museum staff will bring the toolbox to various places in town to meet the people and conduct the workshops. This time, we will have an online ceremony to introduce the toolbox. An artist’s talk will follow the ceremony to share the design concept and the future workshop plan.
※The event will be online due to the spread of COVID-19.

2m26 (Mélanie Heresbach, Sébastien Renauld)

2m26 was founded in 2015 by Mélanie Heresbach and Sébastien Renauld, an architect and artist, and are currently based in Kyoto. They design furniture and architecture based on the idea of modulor originally developed by Le Corbusier. Going beyond the field of design, they explore various approaches relating to the city through performances and workshops. They conduct furniture workshops based on their interest in creating communication using furniture as a tool. Their recent works include “SAIKODAYO” (Shizuoka, 2017), “Alternative Space Core” (Hiroshima, 2017), “2m26 Kyoto House” (Kyoto, 2020). Their major performance works include “TOKYO CROSSING” (Tokyo, 2015).
