Mokaken the 2nd “About Bodies” program. Each of us has a different body, and we experience and feel different things depending on our age, physical characteristics, and culture. Learning about these differences not only helps us understand the barriers between people and museums and learn how to enjoy museums together, but it may also help us imagine others and perceive the world from a different perspective.
Performance Workshop: “The dance of raw jewels” is an improvisational dance performance workshop led by French contemporary dancer Philippe Chéhère. He has been conducting dance workshops and research with physically disabled people, such as Huntington's disease patients, whose bodies move against their will, and has focused on the beauty and creativity inherent in every body itself. This time, members of the welfare corporation Sanyakai Otagawa Gakuen will participate as performers along with Scheele.
Anyone is welcome to join in the dance, not just to watch. After warming up, participants will move around the museum's approach plaza and other areas, moving their bodies as they please, and together they will create a performance.
Cosponsored by: Otagawa Gakuen
